Every year we run an annual challenge for our members and for 2012 the challenge is to design a bloke’s quilt. There are no rules and the bloke can be your son, a brother, an uncle, a grandson or any bloke you like.
Quilts are usually handed in at our September meeting.
The usual award categories are:
- Liddy Rekker Award for machine quilting
- Pru Pape Award for overall winner
- Quilters & Patchworkers of Otago Excellence in Hand Quilting award
We also make an award each year (the Jan Grindlay Memorial Tray) to the person who has made an outstanding contribution to quilting.
